Sammy Bencid, CPT
Sammy earned a degree in Biological Sciences from Florida International University, where he honed his skills in rehabilitation and patient care. With 10 years of experience in strength and conditioning, 3 years in sports performance coaching, and an internship with an athletic trainer at St. Thomas University, Sammy has built a solid foundation in the field. Personal experience with rehabilitation from ankle and shoulder injuries has further enriched his understanding of patient care.
Sammy is also a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), currently serving clients in the vibrant city of Miami. With a focus on manual therapy, functional training, and injury prevention, Sammy has worked with a diverse range of clients, from amateur athletes to individuals recovering from surgeries. His empathetic approach and commitment to individualized care make him a trusted Coach at KRU PT + Performance Lab.
Born and raised in Miami, Sammy grew up deeply appreciating outdoor activities. As a collegiate football player, he experienced firsthand the benefits of staying active and the importance of rehabilitation and injury prevention. This passion for movement and its transformative power led him to pursue a career in physical therapy, where he could share the benefits of an active lifestyle with others.
When not in the clinic, Sammy enjoys fishing, following Formula 1, reading scientific articles, and playing bass guitar. He is also a certified scuba diver and loves meeting new people. Sammy blends his love for the arts with his passion for health and fitness and always seeks new ways to enhance his skills and knowledge.
With a positive attitude and a deep commitment to client care, Sammy strives to inspire others to embrace the mantra that movement truly is medicine.
